In Long Beach, California, south of Los Angeles, Police announced the arrest of a Marriott hotel chef on Wednesday who accused of threatening to carry out a mass shooting at the hotel in a dispute with his employer. Long Beach Police Chief told reporters at a news conference that the suspect, Rodolfo Montoya, 37, was taken into custody on Tuesday at his home in nearby Huntington Beach, where police found an arsenal of weapons, including hundreds of rounds of ammunition, tactical gear, high-capacity ammo magazines and an assault rifle, which are outlawed in California.
The suspect was booked on suspicion of manufacturing and distributing assault weapons, possession of an assault weapon and making a criminal threat, and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond, police said.

Bus crash in Laos kills 13 Chinese tourists

A tour bus skidded off the road and crashed into a ravine on Monday close to the northern city of Luang Prabang, killing at least 13 onboard.
The bus was carrying 44 Chinese tourists, and two Laotians. The Chinese embassy confirmed the death of 13 nationals while 31 others are injured, Chinese state media CCTV reported on Tuesday. The two Laotians were injured. Investigations into the accident are underway, CCTV said.
