• Rebels take control: UK lawmakers voted 328 to 321 to seize control of the parliamentary agenda in an attempt to block a no-deal Brexit, in a blow to Boris Johnson.
• The plan: Tomorrow, a "rebel alliance" of opposition and Conservative MPs will try to pass a bill to prevent the Prime Minister from taking the UK out of the EU on without a deal, as he has pledged to do if he can't strike a new deal by October 31.
• Election threat: The PM warned he would seek early elections if MPs ruled out a no-deal Brexit, but the opposition said it wouldn't vote for new elections unless no-deal was ruled out.
• PM loses majority: The government entered Tuesday night with a razor-thin parliamentary majority of 1. But after a Conservative MP dramatically defected before the vote -- and Johnson subsequently sacked 21 others who voted with the rebels -- that majority is now gone.
